SIKAFLEX CONSTRUCTION PLUS FOR CONCRETE & CONNECTION JOINTS

Sikaflex® Construction Sealant is a premium grade, moisture-cured, 1-component, polyurethane based, non-sag elastomeric sealant.  Sikaflex® Construction+ is designed for movement and connection joints in concrete facades.

One component of Sikaflex products is a moisture-repellent polyurethane sealant / adhesive sealant that heal by reacting with moisture in the air. If the relative humidity is low (usually in winter time) and the relative humidity (usually in summer it is hot and humid) and slow. Through their chemical makeup, polyurethanes will begin the healing process immediately once the cartridge or sausage packaging is opened and the product comes in contact with air (as the air contains moisture).

There are different types of Sikaflex and some heal slowly which gives ample time to apply and the treatment can be completed in all conditions and others which heal faster so that the sticky marks in the product start more quickly and establish a very good bond to the attached part. From the early stages. If the Sikaflex you apply does not heal, first you need to make sure how long the product has been applied, what are the conditions? I.e. it is cold and dry or hot and humid.

Normally all Sikaflex products will have developed a firm skin in 24 hours. If the product does not heal within a few days, it is important to note that alcohol with solutions such as methylated spirits, windwax, etc., have exposed its production, as alcohol and their derived polyurethane can stop healing permanently. If you need to use a tooling agent, you should use a Sikaflex projectile, a little dishwashing liquid in the water, and then run the tool off your finger or sewing the tooling device.

Never use solvents or alcoholic beverages - If Sikaflex has been exposed to alcohol / solvents and has not been cured, the affected Sikaflex should be completely removed and reapplied. It is also a good point to note that in dry conditions the light mist in fresh water from the atomizer spray bottle on the surface of the Sikaflex accelerates the skin and initial healing due to the increase in available moisture. This is most useful in dusty conditions to prevent the accumulation of dirt particles on the unprotected surface before the skin of the cicadas.
