Sikaflex® Construction Sealant is a premium grade, moisture-cured, 1-component, polyurethane based, non-sag elastomeric sealant.  Sikaflex® Construction+ is designed for movement and connection joints in concrete facades.

 

One component of Sikaflex products is a moisture-repellent polyurethane sealant / adhesive sealant that heal by reacting with moisture in the air. If the relative humidity is low (usually in winter time) and the relative humidity (usually in summer it is hot and humid) and slow. Through their chemical makeup, polyurethanes will begin the healing process immediately once the cartridge or sausage packaging is opened and the product comes in contact with air (as the air contains moisture).

Never use solvents or alcoholic beverages - If Sikaflex has been exposed to alcohol / solvents and has not been cured, the affected Sikaflex should be completely removed and reapplied. It is also a good point to note that in dry conditions the light mist in fresh water from the atomizer spray bottle on the surface of the Sikaflex accelerates the skin and initial healing due to the increase in available moisture. This is most useful in dusty conditions to prevent the accumulation of dirt particles on the unprotected surface before the skin of the cicadas.
